After a very busy late spring/early summer back home in the US I have finally returned to Nagoya to put some more time into being a bonsai apprentice. I’m excited to get back into the routine and continue learning. On my last trip I learned a ton, and once I had a few weeks away to let it sink in I was amazed at how much progress I had made and more importantly just how much more there is to learn. It’s nice to finally have a good understanding of what I still need figure out. Gives me some goals to shoot for.
My first feelings about being back? Its hot here and really humid! Basically identical to the Washington DC climate, which after all of these years I’ve still not managed to get comfortable in. Sorry to kick things off with a complaint. It’s really just a joke…well mostly a joke. In fact both Nagoya and DC are great places in the summer, especially if you’re into sweating through a shirt in 2 minutes flat and love mosquito bites. At least the climate similarity has potential to help me power through any home sick blues I may catch.
Special thanks to all of my family and friends for being so supportive! You’ve got to be some of the best people in the world for putting up with me.
More posts to come, so stay with me! In the meantime, feel free to check out www.bonsaiaichien.com to get a better idea of where I’m studying.
Additionally I’d like to take some requests for post topics. So let’s get some ideas churning. The contact page will get your ideas to me, give it a try.
