About the event

The next BYOT workshop will be held on Saturday, September 21st. This session will run from 11am - 4pm, at a cost of $150/person. We will safely be able to work on junipers, pines and tropicals this time of year. Especially wiring and initial styling. This is also a great time to bring in any trees you've already wired, for adjustments. Deciduous trees can be brought in for advice, but we may not be able to safely cut or change them much at this time of year. Bring a few trees if you're unsure.

Required Materials:

  • Scissors
  • pliers
  • wire cutter
  • concave cutter
  • full size run of copper wire #20-#8 and/or aluminum equivalent 0.5mm-3.5mm

To get the most from your time at the workshop, it’s best that everyone cleans and preps their trees in advance. Remove dead foliage and associated twigs, Jin dead branches, clean and apply lime sulphur to deadwood, pull weeds and remove any loose soil and fertilizer from the surface. If you're ambitious, we also encourage you to wire as much of the tree as you can prior to the workshop. This makes it much easier to tune up your wiring skills, find mistakes and still have time to get the tree looking as good as possible before the end of the workshop.

Space is limited to 6 people, and RSVP is required. Please complete the RSVP form on this page to confirm your registration. Once the class is full, registrants will automatically be added to a waitlist.
